The Channels and Vessels of Acupuncture

This four weekend series introduces the theory and practice of acupuncture according to the Neijing (Inner Classic [of Medicine]) theory of five systems of channels and vessels.  Rather than limiting focus to the primary channels as conduits to the zangfu (vital and hollow organs) pathological manifestations in the moment, that theory seeks to identify the incipient accumulation of unresolved pathogenic factors that eventually cause chronic, degenerative, and progressive disease.

That series consists of four weekend seminars:

  1. one day on the sinew channels and one day on the primary channels
  2. another day on little known energetics of the primary channels and one day on the luo vessels
  3. a weekend on the channel distinctions and divergences
  4. one day on the eight extraordinary vessels and one day of clinical integration of the channel systems (including clinical practica where allowed by local laws and regulations)

Participants in this series will have the opportunity to participate in an ongoing discussion of the material introduced in those seminars on this website. For more information about this series, download a four page course description.
